Endurance Specific Training Plans

TRAIN WITH PURPOSE.
RACE WITH CONFIDENCE.

A good training plan isn't about simply filling your week with workouts. It's about knowing what matters, why you're doing it, and how to put the work together so you're ready when race day arrives.

Endurance Specific training plans bring 20 years of coaching experience into a clear, proven structure — built for athletes with goals, responsibilities and a life outside of training.

Find Your Training Plan
Are You Training Intentionally?

MAKE THE TRAINING
YOU DO COUNT.

There's no shortage of training information anymore.

Workouts. Apps. Podcasts. YouTube. AI-generated programs. Watches that tell you when to train, how hard to train and whether you're ready to train at all.

We have access to more data than ever before.

But more information doesn't automatically lead to better training.

It's easy to train hard without knowing when hard actually matters. Add sessions because you feel like you should be doing more. Miss a workout and try to cram it back in. Copy what someone faster is doing. Or become so focused on hitting a prescribed pace, power or heart rate that you stop paying attention to one of the most important sources of information you have:

Your own body.

Good training is intentional.

It's knowing what you're trying to achieve, why the work you're doing matters, and how it fits into the bigger picture.

It's having enough structure to keep you moving forward — without becoming so rigid that you stop listening, adapting and learning.

Because life doesn't follow a training plan perfectly.

Neither does your body.

Sometimes the right decision is to complete the session exactly as written. Sometimes it's adjusting it. Sometimes it's doing something small enough to keep the thread of consistency alive. And sometimes it's recognizing that recovery is the training you need that day.

The goal is to make the training you do count.

That's what our training plans are designed to help you do.

The Endurance Specific Approach

TRAIN INTENTIONALLY.

The plan provides the structure. You still have to become the athlete.

Train for what you're preparing to do.

Your event has demands. Your training should prepare you for them.

That means developing the fitness, strength, skills, durability and confidence required for the event in front of you — rather than simply collecting workouts or chasing fitness for fitness' sake.

There should be a reason for the work.

Build fitness. Don't constantly prove it.

Training works when appropriate stress is applied, absorbed and built upon over time.

Not every session needs to leave you exhausted. Not every week needs to be bigger than the last. And a hard workout isn't automatically a productive workout.

The goal isn't to prove how fit you are today.

It's to build the athlete you'll need on race day.

Make it sustainable.

Consistency beats the occasional perfect week.

A training plan doesn't exist separately from the rest of your life.

Work gets busy. Kids get sick. Travel happens. Sleep isn't always perfect. Some weeks give you more room to train than others.

The answer isn't to abandon structure. It's to have enough structure to keep moving forward without believing that anything less than perfect execution means you've failed.

One missed session doesn't ruin a week. One imperfect week doesn't ruin your preparation.

What matters is what you can consistently put together over time.

Learn to adapt.

Use the plan. Learn to listen.

Power. Pace. Heart rate. Training load. Recovery metrics.

They're useful.

But they're information — not instructions.

A number can't tell the entire story of what is happening inside your body on a particular day.

That's why we want athletes to develop an understanding of effort as well as metrics. To know what easy feels like. What sustainable feels like. When they have more to give. When something isn't right.

Your training plan gives you direction.

Learning how your body responds to that training makes you a better athlete.

At Endurance Specific, data informs. It doesn't dictate.

The goal isn't to become better at following a training plan.
The goal is to become a better athlete.
Built Through Experience

PROVEN IN THE
REAL WORLD.

Coaching Since 2006 · Triathlon · Trail · Ultra · Endurance

We've been coaching endurance athletes since 2006 — from first-time racers through personal bests, age-group wins and World Championship qualification.

Twenty years of coaching has taught us far more than how to write workouts. It has taught us how differently athletes respond to training, and how important it is that a plan works in the real world — around jobs, families, travel, fatigue and everything else life brings.

That's the experience behind every Endurance Specific training plan.
